CAT stands for Common Admission Test. CAT, in India, is a computer based test. CAT test scores a person on the bases of Ability, Interpretation, and Reasoning based questions. The first section is Quantitative Ability Data Interpretation The second section is Verbal Ability Logical Reasoning. These two sections need to be answered sequentially in separate time limits. 2. The examination is of 140 minutes. Candidates have 70 minutes to answer 30 questions within each section. CAT Exams have an on-screen countdown timer. Within the 70 min provided for each section, candidates can review the answers. Once the time ends for the first section, they will be asked to move to the second section and cannot go back to the previous. 3. A 15-minute tutorial is provided before the test. Candidates are advised to go through a 15-minute tutorial carefully before starting the main examination. The total duration will be two hours and thirty five minutes including the tutorial. 4. Practice Test for familiarizing the candidates for the main segment. A practice test is provided to the candidates to give them an actual feel of the navigation, timed sections and the overall functionality of the CAT test. Once again candidates are advised to watchfully acquaint themselves with the screens, layout, and navigation. 5. At the test venue, each candidate is seated at a desk with a computer. They are provided with a scratch paper for the calculations. After the test, candidate must leave that paper at the desk. Rough work cannot be done on anything else as it is not allowed to take anything inside with you in the examination hall/room.
